Arthur, project sounds cool, are you looking for a PA of any sort, trying to get involved in the business and am eager to work and learn.
I have a movie idea that I know I cant write, was wondering if anyone knows how I can pitch it to a studio. I live in NY
Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that you will be able to get a studio meeting to pitch an idea, unless you are either referred, professionally or know someone internally.
There may be some sites that specifically ask for loglines and/or pitches. Not sure if cold calling is good to just pitch ideas....maybe.
Blake Snyder has a really good formula to use. It's in his book Save the Cat 3 and he uses Juno as a reference. It will show how to create both a Logline and a one-minute pitch.

Unless you're a known, produced writer with credits and an agent etc. or you have a relative who adores you in the biz, the studios (the assistant that answers the phones, anyway) won't even listen to your pitch. They legally can't. So, after you finish the script, pay for coverage from at least one reputable produced writer (or company), rewrite it , submit it to the top competitions that give feedback, rewrite it, write the best high concept logline and query letter possible, pay for feedback on that and rewrite it, register it with the LOC and/or WGA, do your research as to what prodcos do your genre and/or will even accept queries, send the query out and hope for the best. If anyone is seriously interested and options it, great. That's when the real rewrites begin!
Those are all good tips. I can not write it because it is a subject matter that I am not familiar with. But looks like Im going to give it a shot.
