It's called "ACTING FOR WRITERS AND DIRECTORS". Over the years as a talent coach working on movie sets I've found that many DIRECTORS really don't know how to communicate with actors. I've watched potentially good films go wrong because of bad communication. Actors depend on directors for guidance. It's imporant to speak their language and to know how to help them when things go wrong. This class will address these issues and many, many more. Participants will have the opportunity to write, direct and act in scenes that they have written or scenes from current projects. To learn more go to: www.bobmcandrew.com..Briefly I was the head of the talent program at Paramount Pictures for many years, and headed Twentieth Century Fox’s talent school. some of the aactors I've coached include Michael Douglas, Christopher Walken, Richard Dreyfuss, Raul Julia, Sela Ward and Academy Award winner Chris Cooper. I'm also an award winning writer and director with several new movie projects on the fire. Best wishes to all , Bob
Hello Bob I wish you well on your exciting project .

I think every actor should learn to direct something and every director should act in something. It made things so much clearer for me as an actor when I directed some shows. I'll stay with acting, but appreciate what a director goes thru now!
Nice opportunity for writers.... Bob.

Every class is an opportunity to stretch my acting muscles further. I have people roll tier eyes and snicker at my dream, but I have friends who celebrate every role I land. And I thank god for my husband who is my #1fan & biggest supporter of my dream! He's the one who said " do it!". So keep pushing and never give up!
Thanks everyone!

In my area there are many little theaters, so to find auditions i visit their website or go to backstage.com. Now there are only a few selection of theater that have an area on their website actors can look at to find out when their next auditions is or to submit for auditions and there are some theaters that i want to work with that dont have that. How can I find out when these theaters have audition when they dont announce it on their website? What is the best approach to take to let a theater know you would like to audition and get audition notices? Thanks!

Expand commentIs there a "theater alliance" in your area? Some areas hold a once a year audition you can sign up for on the theater alliance website. Other than that go to each theater website and find out who the Artistic Director is and physically mail them your headshot and resume along with a cover letter letting them know you are interested in auditioning for their upcoming seasons. Also network with your fellow actors to see where & when auditions are happening. Hope this helps!
Perfect! Thanks so much alice! yes we have a theater alliance. I am working on monologue auditions right now - I had training in cold reading technique & audition. but your correct i have to mail them my headshot resume and cover letter.
I didn't realize you are also in the Philly area! Check both Philadelphia and the NJ theater alliances! And don't be discouraged if you get no response from some theaters right away. Sometimes they contact you months later when they are auditioning a show they think you are right for.
