About Peter

STORYTELLER
Peter McArdle is a writer, director, designer,, photographer and storyteller who embraces using new tools and technology. He writes a lot and, as with most things a person does a lot, he's gotten good at it. Plus, he always had a gift for it, and that helps. He also directs and produces film projects, and has an on-again off-again love affair with the Web and all it represents. At present, the love affair is most definitely on, as new tools and ways of connecting have changed the whole dynamic of interaction.
CREATIVE
Over the years he's worked with many people including Edward Bunker, noted writer, bank robber and ex-con who wrote 5 books and 2 movies. Eddie mentored Peter on writing fiction and screenplay for the two years before Bunker died in 2005. During that time Peter worked on the script for Education of a Felon, the screenplay version of Eddie's memoir by the same name. He wrote The Next Big Thing (2004) original feature film screenplay that was optioned by a major production company, and The 211 Club (2003) original feature film screenplay based on the novel by the same name.

Peter wrote and directed The Beatle Fan (2002); an Official Selection of the Tribeca Film Festival, Columbia University Film Festival, Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival in London and HDFest World Tour 2002-03. It starred Peter Stormare (Constantine, Bad Boys II, Fargo) as Albert, a disturbed fan of the the Beatles who encounters Mark David Chapman in Attica Prison.

While in the MFA program at Columbia University's Film Division, he shot Albert's Story (2001) a short fiction film, starring Darrel Larson.

He has worked on several documentary projects, and has two in development at the present time, as well as a novel and a biography of notorious Hollywood bad guy Danny Trejo.
EDUCATION
Peter has learned many things, including some while acquiring a Masters of Fine Arts degree (MFA) from Columbia University's School of the Arts, Film Division. He was the recipient of 1999 Dean's Scholarship. Before that, he earned a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, Department of Film, Video and Animation.

Software and Technology
Peter has a natural inquisitiveness and a knack for figuring things out, which has helped him to learn new technologies quickly. He is not afraid of change. This has helped him to make a living in highly technical environments like software development and implementation.

He's good at explaining things.

Unique traits: Writer-Producer with high level technical skills in image capture, design, digital media, and nonlinear editing.
