Larissa Benfey

The Actor:

I began acting at the age of about seven. It started out as simple church productions or small parts in school plays but quickly became a passion I wanted to pursue.

Over the past eighteen years, I have been in dozens of theatre productions, including The Passages of Everett Manning, Hurray for Johnny Canuck andThe Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

While I will always love theatre, I am also no stranger to the screen. I started jumping in front of cameras not long after discovering the stage, determined to hone my craft there as well.

Now, with almost two decades of experience behind me, I still enjoy every opportunity, big or small, to do what I love. Armed with determination, dedication, and positivity, I plan to take over the world – or at least SEE all of it – one film set or theatre stage at a time.

The Writer:

From screenplays to short stories and even blogging, I have been writing since before I started acting. A university graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English, I am a freelance copy and content writer, but my first love is writing fiction.

Six years of studying the greats like William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson and Homer, has taught me what truly captivating prose looks like. But it was through the age-old experience of trial-and-error that taught me how to emulate it myself and brought my writing to where it is today.

An elementary school ESL tutor by trade, I love to combine my passions. As a tutor, I have the privilege of working with some fantastic kids while being submerged in the English language and, as a cherry on top, I get to teach!

I am also in the process of writing my first YA novel, something that combines virtually all of my passions at once. Keep an eye out for my name in bookstores near you – coming soon!
