DEAD FIRST - SYNOPSIS

DEAD FIRST is the story of Mac McAvoy, a Police Detective on suspension for a questionable shooting whose daughter has been kidnapped, and her journey to find her daughter and bring the killer to final justice.

While on suspension, she spends her time in her kidnap command post at home. Her daughter was the first, but there have been others since. Mac is fresh out of a psychiatric center. She is looking for anything the FBI might have missed; some angle, some motive.

Mac sees what she thinks is a pattern and heads for the local Catholic church. She tries to talk with the priest and get some information about his parishioners, but he’s not talking. At least not until Mac gets in his face. Then he gives her a list of boys from the local area who may have the right psychological makeup to commit these kidnappings, and, for all she knows, murders.

As she starts her investigation, the most recent victim’s father shows up at her door begging to go with her. With reluctance, she lets him tag along. They go through her list of suspects one at a time, getting background information from her partner who’s on desk duty.

Once it becomes clear who the perpetrator is, she gets her Captain to back her up and bring the FBI and the County Sheriff in for a search. The search turns up nothing because, as we find out later, the perp is the Sheriff’s nephew.

Once she gets more evidence, she tries to get her Captain and the FBI to back her up, but once burned, twice shy. So she goes into the lair of the dragon with only her civilian sidekick and her Beretta.

After Mac has been missing more than 24 hours, her Captain calls the FBI for a favor. The answer is no. She finally shames the FBI agent himself into putting his career on the line to check on Mac. The girls are being held for a mass ritual sacrifice by a cult leader. A name that was on the priest’s list.

In the final fight, Mac stops the perp by swinging a sickle into his groin.

Then she takes her daughter and rejoins her husband.
