About Michael

I was born and raised in upstate South Carolina. Buckle of the Bible Belt.

Growing up, I was always daydreaming in class. Making up stories of other places and other people. It didn't stand me in good stead with my teachers, but it was good practice for screenwriting.

I began my career as an Accountant, then moved to Atlanta and switched to Sales/Sales Management. After meeting my wife to be on the phone during a business call, I moved to Texas and got into Customer Service. Currently I'm a Fraud Analyst for a credit card company. I've worked with a lot of people from every walk of life and many different cultures. I've worked for a few good bosses, but mostly people who got promoted for all the wrong reasons. One manager I had would even tell you who his sugar daddy in the company was if you stayed around him for a few minutes. All that adds up to a lot of grist for the story mill.

I got the writing bug in the early 2000's and spent all my spare time taking courses, then writing and re-writing scripts. Had to take a few years off for personal reasons. Fortunately for me, I never learned how to quit. Anything.

I placed in several competitions and had a couple of screenplays optioned. Finally moved on from competitions and started approaching Managers and Producers directly--but there are fewer and fewer who can be reached.

I hope The Writers Room is my opportunity to be noticed.
