Noah Wyle's The Blank Theater's Young Playwrights Festival SAM'S BIRTHDAY Carsen as Sam 2012 Carsen's character was an abused boy who pretended out his own birthday party and acted the parts of his best friend, girl he likes and the father he wishes he had all the while his father linger backstage yelling for him in a druken angry stupor. There wasn't a dry eye in any rehearsal and performance. He was onstage by himself for 20 min. I am very proud of him. He told me he loved taking the audience on the emotional journey roller-coaster and would often jump up after a rehearsal excited while we were all crying. LOL This last scene of the dad coming out from behind stage, a woman in the audience gasped in fear very loudly one night. Amazing!
