About Pasquale
Pasquale Avella is a writer, director and producer from a blue-collar neighborhood in Queens, New York. He studied business at St. John’s University in New York City, has a B.F.A. in Film & Video Production from City College of New York, and studied the Meisner technique at the Acting Studio–New York.
He is the founder of Avenue 11A Films, a company with a mission to tell innovative stories about the struggles of everyday people. His career began in construction many years ago but his passion for cinema led him to the film industry. In 2018, a short film he wrote, shot, and edited, Hi I’m Dan, won Best Short/Short at the Miami Short Film Festival.
Pasquale has also made numerous educational videos about diverse historical figures including Frida Kahlo, Oscar Romero, Shirley Chisholm, and many others.
His goal is to make feature films about the working class and the underrepresented that inspire real conversations about change.
