Pamela Norton Docken

Who am I? Good question! I have a varied history in the arts, as a comedianne, actress, theatre producer, playwright, painter, comedy writer, and am now finishing my first serious writing as a novelist. I was born to express myself.

I am intrigued by life - not by fame. To me life has a deeper meaning , one that is much more enriching than people just knowing my name.

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE the sound of applause, the high of an audiences' laughter, the acknowledgement of work well done. But what makes me unique, in my mind anyway, is that artists are seeking fame in order to validate themselves. But for me, I simply find it to be a privilage to meet and work with those who bring entertainment to our world.

If I am who you are looking for by way of what I have to offer, then I am grateful. This business is hard and I know it well from both sides. I know too how it is with casting - I have done my fair share of doing so myself.

If you were to chose me for a role be warned: I am fun to work with - because it's about the art, not about me. It's about pleasing you, via my work, rather than me trying to make you see I am a star.

Whether I am never 'known' or if some sort of 'fame' comes my way it doesn't matter. What matters is I do my best, I make my directors and producers happy and the audience has been entertained.

If you would like to work with someone who doesn't make it seem like work then let's talk. If you like the challenge of a talent who wants to be a challenge, I am sorry to say that is not me, but I do commend you for being up to the challenge..

I just know that for you, as a director or producer or a casting agent - you deserve to have a break once in a while. That break would be me - you could say I would be your breath of fresh air!
