Karlene Fontilio

I am Karlene Fontilio the founder of Higherleveltheatre, based in Islington, been running since 2011. I work with young people who are from a high percentage of disadvantage background and area. I use drama to help them see life as a mean to change their life, which I have successfully succeed. I have written numerous of plays hence real life stories ie Crime Of The Drug Rush, Families Values, Reaching Out, and finally You Can Run. Just to name a few, all been successful, feedback, helping people see the real life and to look back on their life and to think, living in Hackney Islington have a real effect on our children and young people, poverty, drugs, families, teenager and crime, this gives me the inspiration to write what goes on where I work Especially dealing with this everyday.
I have not solely produce any of my plays, only in small theatre and a budget film, at the cost of in kind, To which some of our young people have gifted and national the talent to become actors and actresses , I now want to branch out using my talent and gift to explore with my script, as I write by visual. I hopefully seek people who are in the filming industry who would give me a chance to see some of my plays/ film. And help me to produce them.
