Expand postThank you for reaching out to connect and keep up the GREAT WORKS on the behalf of the MANY beneficial uses of marijuana, particularly on the medicinal side of things. As an advocate (and former smoker for now...had to give up cigs and MJ many years ago!) and someone who used to cover politics a bit in D.C. and California, I hope -- through your leading efforts and others -- that some true activist leaders can get the attention of the pols about the similarly wonderful benefits of HEMP for everything from paper/cardboard products to rope and wide variety of TEXTILE-based products (it used to be a HUGE industry in the USA before the "Prohibition-minded" pols of the 1930s went on the "payrolls" of the BIG PHARMA special interest/lobby). Hemp is an incredibly DURABLE and ABUNDANT, ROBUST PLANT which can help SAVE TREES and provide America and the world with a safe, SUSTAINABLE alternative to other finite and chemically-treated products! Well, keep up the great works and holding up the flag for Mary Jane! Cheers! :-D

Would anyone be interested in getting leads for industry jobs? I get a few emailed to me daily and most of the time don't have the qualifications.

Expand commentHi Michael, I read in your bio that you are interested in World War II history. I was working on a treatment for a story (screenplay) based in part on the lives of my writing partner's mother, grandmother and uncle and their experiences during the war. We want to turn it into a screenplay. Maybe you can give some technical advice or even contribute in other way. All of our work is done on SPEC at this time. Looking forward to receiving your email address, so I can forward some leads to you. Dita

Expand commentMucho gracias as well, Lisa, for connecting! It is indeed a welcome opportunity to connect as fellow screenwriters because ours is probably the most typically solitary and isolating pursuit in the entertainment business -- largely to give ourselves the opportunity to stretch our boundaries of thinking to develop unique stories and characters! If I were to sum up a possibly less than flattering description of some dedicated film/tv scribes, it would be that of a "survivalist" inhabiting an bunker on the North Pole -- except we'd be relegated to pecking a keyboard with an ice pick than our fingers! Truly, I do look forward to making more connections and exchanging posts on this site as a "newbie" here -- I need to get our my self-inflicted shell! Please accept my heartiest congrats on your writing work with "Case Number 13" and getting those credits up in lights welith IMDB! Cheers! Best, Michael

Expand commentThanks so much! I guess I am fortunate to not be alone in my pursuit. Having a great mentor and partner is great. (though there are times I work on my own scripts, but it seems as soon as I do, Andy (my partner) calls up to talk about another idea he wants to pitch and off we go again! Brainstorming together is my favorite part of the process! And with Case 13, director Johnny Martin kept me involved and informed from our first story meeting, to casting and even FX. I was even invited to come out to watch a few scenes being filmed. I was shown around by the art director and made to feel welcome by the whole crew. I know for a lot of screenwriters, once it's sold, they rarely hear anything or stay involved but I'm a very lucky lady!
Okay, a grandpa named "Sir Cumalot," you've lured me in to give this a read and rate for the LAUGHS! Will drop a note again shortly! Cheers, PJ! :-D
