Yana Gibbs

I was born and grew up in Moscow, where I attended The Specialized Music School named after Gnessiny sisters. I've travelled for few years, lived in Paris and finally settled in the Caribbean seventeen years ago. I've been writing in screenwriting format for three years, and so far pleased with my progress- my first screenplay The Crossing (working title Carfax) has made it to the Bluecat 2012 semifinals, and also won two awards at the Monaco Film Fest. In the meantime, I wrote two pilots - a spec My Better Half, and The Villa, an island crime drama concept. I have initially developed The Villa for Philippe Martinez who later changed his plans and decided not to pursue his work on the island, leaving me the rights over the whole series. I have just finished a historical drama based on true events, and am getting ready to write an adaptation of a French novel, all that in time for the Cannes Festival. Too many projects, too little time!
