Born and raised in the Portuguese countryside, I developed a very interrogative and curious nature from childhood. I started writing in my teenage years and, through my love of cinema, applied such writings to the screen. I wrote my first script, a horror short, when I was 13 and it was terrible. I kept on writing because it's the best way for me to not only express myself but also dwell on my own shortcomings. It's like therapy. I'm very interested in the human mind, as dysfunctional and self-centred as it may be, our inner conflicts and desires, and our own understanding of what we are - from simple instinctive animals to soulful god-like creatures.
