Daria was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. At the age of 14 her and her family moved to Moscow, Russia. She immediately enrolled in the School of Journalism and within a year was working as a freelance writer in a newspaper. She soon realized that she could find a much more effective form of storytelling in filmmaking, which she aggressively pursued. Daria was accepted into the prestigious Humanities Institute of TV & Radio Broadcasting, named after M.A. Litovchin, where she earned her first Master’s Degree, in Producing. She pursued the best opportunities in Moscow, working with some of the biggest Russian TV and movie production studios.
After her graduation she decided to move to Los Angeles, as she felt that her ability to grow and express herself was limited in Russia. She became a student at the New Film Academy in Los Angeles, and earned her second Master’s Degree in filmmaking, this time focusing on Directing. She made several successful short films, which gave her an opportunity to do festival circuits, meet people in the industry, and bring them together to begin her newest endeavor, her first feature film “The Shattering”, which is streaming right now on the major platforms since August 2021.
