Tamsyn Van Gelderen

Started out as a print journalist (crime and courts) then did an honours degree in animal science and now I am predominantly a fact checker, archive footage searcher and specialist researcher for wildlife documentaries. I have worked in reality television as a content director for Big Brother (SA and Africa) and also a questions producer for a Nigerian and South African game show. I copy edit and proofread (print) books, articles and scripts. I write articles for web sites every now and then and do a little script writing on the side when required. I don't shoot (yet) and I don't film edit (not my forte - but love working with editors as I believe their vision and my writing are a perfect match!) There isn't a specific title for me in the lists for Stage 32 unfortunately, so I am a jill of many trades where writing, researching and fact checking is concerned - but I am very good at what I do. I work well in a team but prefer working remotely as then I don't have to stop. And I am OCD when it comes to accuracy and details, and making sure my filmmakers are ready for any behaviour and any shot. I eat deadlines for breakfast! Always up for a challenge, always excited about the project or projects I am working on, always keen for the next adventure.
Personally, I read constantly, love movies (but not series) and spend a lot of time with my, and other peoples dogs - I look after animals for people on holiday as a sideline.
