Owen Cooper is a sequential artist, illustrator and writer that is currently attending The Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD); majoring in sequential art. From a young age Owen has dreamed of being a comic book artist. His love for comics is best described in this quote of him describing the first time he read a comic book:
"In a comic book's fictional world, filled with outcast and mystery, there seemed to be several common themes in each character. Survival, belonging and a search for a purpose in life. I, at that time, had never had so much in common with a fictional character; I did not know it was possible. I quickly realized what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to make people feel like they belonged in the world, and that there are people out there like them. I then said to myself: “I love to draw; when I grow up I’m going to become a comic book artist."
