My name is Jaime Torres, I am cinematographer and videographer. I started out as a freelance videographer over the past six years, and have transitioned towards the art of cinematography, after attending New York Film Academy with a MFA degree in the Cinematography program, where I gained knowledge of film and digital, from inception to completion. I eventually have learned everything from gripping, gaffing, camera assistant, camera operating, to camera assistant work. Throughout my career, I have shot various shorts, commercials, narrative features, and documentaries, including shooting for several segments for PBS SoCal. I also had won several awards as director and Director of Photography, including four awards for best short film, best cinematography and best foreign short.
The cameras that I’ve used, range from Digital to Film, such as, Red cinema camera, like the Scarlet, Dragon, Arri Alexa, A7s, Canon 5D mark iii, FS7, panasonic GH4, and Arri 535, and Arriflex 16mm. As of now, I currently own a BlackMagic Mini Ursa 4.6k, and also a couple of prime lens, including a telephoto lens, and a zoom lens. I can also provide a excellent camera team, if necessary to bring into production. Overall, I really consider myself as a enthusiastic, creative; and also demonstrate an ability to achieve objectives within strict dead-lines, but overall I carry a positive attitude at all times. I value the chance to be able to build quality among production in order to enhance creativity, and growth.
