About Sherrill

Sherrill Wark is a novelist, short story writer and poet, a screenwriter, book designer (crowecreations.ca), former editor, not-so-little ol' lady (now pushing 80) but is otherwise normal.

Her genres range from Historical Fiction to SciFi to Supernatural to Thriller to Drama to Horror to Young Adult to Old Adult to Self-help. Her books have been published and her several screenplays are chewing their fingernails in the wings.

Her screenplay The Bus to Lo Siento placed in the top 10% in the 2013 Oaxaca FilmFest; The Soul Eaters (a sequel to her supernatural horror novel, Graven Images) was a Quarterfinalist in the 2017 Page Awards; and Maureen Tries Online Dating (adapted from her SciFi horror novel of the same name and the first of a planned series) was an Honorable Mention in the Fall 2022 Diverse Writers Outreach Competition.

She received positive feedback on her thriller, Skin Eater, and on the first of the planned Colony Mars YA SciFi Action/Adventure series, The Dahlgrin Dilemma. She embraced the suggested changes to these and made most of them.

She has also completed three shorts so far in the Lenny’s Pawn Shop collection. (Lenny pawns just about anything but he also deals in Karma.)

She is currently adapting her supernatural horror novel, Graven Images, into a TV miniseries. She plans yet another screenplay sequel to this novel, set in present day.

She also plans to adapt her YA Supernatural Action/Adventure novel, Vivie Goes to Hell in a Hatchback, into screenplay (TV miniseries?) format, and the second of her Kesk8a story historical novel series about the Acadians, Refuge in l’Acadie (think, Salem witch trials meet the underground railroad), as well.

Oh, and Off the ’Skids is on the front burner, too. It’s a SciFi horror on gene altering. What could go wrong when you’re collecting pollen in the garden and you swat at a mosquito?

Sherrill is a former typesetter—for twenty years—who, on top of everything from menus to government secrets, typeset scientific journals for eight of those years. On her own, she has been studying aberrant psychology (sometimes right up close and dangerous) since she was a teenager; and she totally nerds out on anything concerning the Universe, er… that would be the Multiverse, right?
