It's all about that base, and we need to build a base strong enough to support our projects/dreams. This is my theory of everything involving film, T.V. and any other medium used to convey your story. Once upon a time, I moved out to California from Boston, MA. Did I ever look back? I sure did, following some major setbacks; some very personal that led me north. I packed up my luggage, sold my recording studio... meaning, I slipped out from the debt of construction and equipment purchased to open a 24 track facility called "Big Scary Tree Recording" in Downtown, LA. Yes, it was very exciting stuff after having spent six or so months of time working on Metallica's Black album as an assistant engineer/runner to the first assistant engineer and Bob Rock, in what would become their biggest selling album of ever. needless to say, I thought I was on my way.
Today, however many years later, music has only motivated, inspired and for the most part> saved me. But, I gave up making music and pretty much resigned myself to producing poetry, sold, published or performed. I wrote a little copy while getting my education in screenwriting. I then picked myself up off the floor and moved back once again to Hollywood, California, after attending the NYFA in New York City, coming close to the gate with a feature screenplay while doing a bit of acting, meaning mostly background work, while attaining my SAG membership. Well, I then became a semifinalist with a short script that I plan to shoot this year. The learning is always and will always continue to happen. I, once more moved out of California, up to Portland, OR. This was for family reasons with hope of returning once and for all to California. The journey has for sure been something special thus far.
