In 1995, Michael Yurinko stepped out of the gate swinging with his first screenplay "Plainfield" placing as a semi-finalist in both the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting and the Chesterfield Screenwriting Competition.
Instead of film school, he took out a personal loan and went on to write and direct the short film "Retrospect". Michael continued writing screenplays while directing regional TV commercials under his production/advertising company Gage Films and directing a weekly regional TV show called "Valley Home Shopping". After winning multiple awards for his commercial work, he focused on writing and directing "Fading", his first feature film. “Fading” gained critical praise during its theatrical run and played in several film festivals.
Michael worked as the assistant director on the hit TV documentary show "Forensic Files" which is distributed to 140 countries. During this time he penned his next screenplay "For the Love of Jade" which went on to win 1st Prize in the Fade In Awards and place as a semi-finalist in the Nicholl Fellowships - top 100 out of 6000 scripts.
His next project was the emotional and heavy-hitting psychological horror film “ENTITY” starring Holt Boggs, Nick Mancuso, Brandon Slagle and Fred Doss. This film was repped by Taylor & Dodge and released by Origin Releasing with global DVD and VOD sales. Currently the film is being released under Global 3 Media.
Screengage works in the $3M and under range in the horror, thriller, sci-fi and action genres for world release. Low budget, high concepts. His next project was the feature film "Impuratus", produced by Guy Quigley and ThunderSmoke Media and Charles Lago starring Tom Sizemore, Robert Miano, Lew Temple, Jody Quigley, Silvia Spross and Arien DeLaMater and distributed by Gravitas Ventures. Michael is represented by Zero Gravity Management in Los Angeles.
