Jo-Jeanne Rapiér came to writing after a career in acting under the auspices of Robert (Bobby) Lewis (Founder, Actor’s Studio) and Roy London. Her first short story and poem were published, as were numerous others, successively, over the next nine years.
As an editor, she has offered all types of editing from developmental to proofreading working within a broad range of children’s, young/new adult and adult literature. Within all genres, she has brought about that perfect pairing of the creative and the rational. The essential twosome in reaching the readers with not only with their hearts and imagination, but also with the precision that will take the reader away to whatever "world" is presented on the page.
While studying at AFI, she became involved in television, film and theatre production and was the associate producer on the award winning play, “The Marrieds”.
Within the Warner Bros., CBS, Paramount and Disney studios, her work was first in script analysis, she then ventured into screenplay writing, spanning genres of drama, live action-animation, psychological thriller, romantic-comedy, horror and was brought in by Disney for a coming-of-age script.
She has now finished the first two books of her children’s books series, “Monsieur Lapin Travels the World”, complete with narration, music and sound effects. Set in the beauty and style of 1930’s imagery, it delights and entices young children in exploring the world and its languages.
