About Laurel
LAUREL ELLIS is a screenwriter, cemetery restorer and single mom currently living in northeast PA, but hoping to be able to return to the L.A. area soon. She spent many years roaming cemeteries before she started to do restorations. Her story THE RESTORER is an Austin Film Festival second rounder, in both podcast and tv script form. The podcast has also placed as a ScreenCraft quarter finalist, while the teleplay has also placed in the StoryPros quarter finals, Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards quarter finals, and was a Fresh Voices finalist. THE RESTORER has received a Consider in coverage from Austin, Launch Pad, Screen Craft and TITAN. She has also placed in the quarter finals of Page, Austin and Fresh Voices with her drama feature RYAN, and as a quarter finalist with the action/adventure BREACH OF TRUST in Emerging Screenwriters.
When not writing or hanging out with dead people, she spends time with her three kids and however many animals have wandered into her house on a given day.
