ANGEL BLOOD
By Rick Blackwell

GENRE: Sci-fi, Fantasy
LOGLINE:

A nursing home resident develops unusual abilities after he volunteers to participate in an experimental vitamin trial to fight cancer.

SYNOPSIS:

After George’s wife died and his diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer occurred, he ended up in a nursing home. After chemotherapy, he was finally ready to move on with his life. His good-for-nothing son spent his entire retirement fund believing that he was going to die. Now the only things he has left are his old car and the house that he built with his own hands. As soon as he got the results that the cancer had returned, his son came to visit to get him to sign over the house and take the car. Things looked bleak until a military doctor filling in at the nursing home offered him a chance to participate in a new vitamin drug trial. He quickly agreed. Now cancer-free, he found himself feeling younger and stronger, while the other participant in the trials died.

Randy’s mother was all he had in life, and so at her deathbed, he was determined to keep her from leaving him. As an innocent child, he was able to see the angel when she arrived to take his mother's soul. He fought her with everything he had but could not prevent his mother's soul from being taken. His hatred for angels continued throughout his early life and even late into his military career. He had recovered a small device left behind during his fight with the angel. This device allowed him to track when and where an angel would be sent to collect another soul. He managed to capture an unsuspecting angel during one of these events—Gabriel himself. Through torture and experimentation, he developed a plan for an army of human angels to invade heaven to get his revenge. He conducted experiments on nursing home residences and got incredible results. He decided to remove George from the nursing home, and to his surprise, the very angel that had taken his mother's soul was living there as well. God had decreed that Ida must continue to live as a human because she was impassioned and lacking in empathy when taking a soul. After Ida's and George’s abduction, some of the residents go on a mission to free them by using the experimental drug. With their newly discovered superpowers, they rescue George and Ida and save the heavenly realm.
