SYNOPSIS:
Loosely inspired by the classic Grimm's Fairy Tale THE SIX SWANS, this story was originally envisioned as an animated film. In Eighth Century Europe, the only daughter of an ailing King dreams of someday being entrusted with the same responsibilities as the men in her family. The little girl's leadership shines after a rival Queen transforms her six older brothers into swans, but the child remains frustrated by her inability to reverse the Queen's spell. In the end, the heroine defeats the Queen and brings freedom to her people once she learns to accept the wisdom and aid of others. Extended Synopsis/Treatment: Bergen - the youngest (but immensely capable) daughter of an ailing King - dreams of someday being entrusted with the same responsibilities as the men in her family but is devastated when her father announces his decision not to include her when splitting his kingly responsibilities among her six brothers. Upset but trying hard not to show it, Bergen takes a long walk in the market square. There, she encounters a stranded merchant woman and insists on helping her to assemble her wagon. In exchange for her aid, the woman - who, it turns out, is very successful - provides Bergen with advice on how to succeed within the world of men. Her courage rekindled, Bergen returns home but arrives too late to prevent a rival Queen from transforming her brothers into swans. Bergen gallantly rescues her siblings from the Queen, leading them to safety in a nearby forest, but becomes frustrated by her inability to reverse the Queen's spell. With the Queen's agents in hot pursuit and time running out, Bergen must learn to mitigate her own stubbornness and selfish pride if she is to have any hope of defeating the Queen and bring freedom to her people.
