About Parvati

Conceived in a field of snow angels in Montreal and escorted into this world one New Year's Eve by a man in a tuxedo, Parvati is a chart-topping, award-winning Canadian singer, composer, producer, yoga teacher and author whose inspirations include the symphonic sounds of Nature, the laughter of the Buddha, and the magnificence of the human spirit.

Parvati composes and produces texturally rich electronic soundscapes, powerhouse dance anthems and positive possibilities pop songs that carry a profound and timeless message of interconnection and oneness. Her music is known for its luscious, immersive sonic experience, and for her angelic five-octave vocals. A multi-talented, multi-dimensional co-creator, Parvati also designs and builds fantastical costumes, video art installations and immersive visual shows.

Earth Day 2014 marked Parvati’s ascension to #1 in Canadian electronica charts, fitting given that Parvati dedicates her music to the well-being of all, including Mother Earth. 2014 will also see a third edition of Parvati’s book “Confessions Of A Former Yoga Junkie”, the official launch of her 5.1 surround sound concept album called “YIN”, and the “One Earth Family” quadraphonic tour. All of these productions have been inspired by Parvati’s 2010 journey to the North Pole to raise awareness of the melting polar ice caps, as well as by her medically miraculous healing journey from a devastating spinal injury that had left her bedridden and paralyzed.

Whether Parvati performs as herself or as her alter ego Natamba, an intergalactic being of liquid gold, her electrifying stage presence brings to life for audiences a brilliant field of interconnection and a message of love for self, love for others and love for our Mother Earth that Parvati knows is the only truth.

Prior to Parvati’s full-time musical career, she was the co-founder of the University of Toronto’s holistic education program and operated yoga studios in Montreal and Toronto. When Parvati is not involved in music, production and touring, she can be found creating CDs and DVDs for her unique form of yoga (YEM: Yoga as Energy Medicine), publishing books, leading workshops at international conferences and festivals, and giving talks to assist people in realizing their true magnificence.

Her long-standing meditation practice continues to be the foundation of her life. A percentage of proceeds from all of Parvati’s work supports the international charity Embracing The World.
