About Andy

Andy's love of film has been with him since childhood, and after a career of graphic design work and involvement in music, he has finally turned his sights onto shooting, directing and editing video. His first short in 2011 won Best Local Film at the Colony Film Festival. His second short in 2012, a stop-motion animation called The Stone, was screened at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus and was licensed by ShortsTV out of London.

He finished his first feature film, Arcadia, in 2016. His duties for Arcadia included writer, producer, director, art director, cinematographer, editor, visual fx and sound designer. It is now being entered into festivals.

He's also a drum set player who can be heard with the modern vocal-jazz group Jess Baldwin Quintet, his fiance’s band. He creates personal video projects under his own business, Zetetic Studios, LLC. and has worked for over 25 years in the graphic design field. In the last few years has incorporated video into his work with Stonewall Group in Marietta, OH—a marketing firm where he works full time. His corporate videos have won several ad awards.

Arcadia (2014 - 2016)
Film by Zetetic Studios (Drama and Fantasy) Writer / Director / DP / Editor Jared, a journalist in despair of meaning, comes across an old map to a place that doesn't exist. His coworkers, however, insist there is a story worth writing. Having nothing to lose, Jared enters a rabbit hole into a surreal world of shady characters, lost customs, and soulful performers that wrest him from the stupor of his life, forcing him to confront the meaning of being a human in the tunnels of Arcadia. Starring Yang Miller as Jared, Arcadia pulls together unique performers, musicians, and visual artists to bring to life a lost way of living in this art-house film riddled with poetry, philosophy, and mysterious figures. Challenged by limited resources, a volunteer cast and crew trekked through hidden locations across Marietta, Ohio, learning and experimenting along the way. Over the course of a year the film took on a life of its own and bloomed into an existential narrative under the direction of Andy Hall, a man whose mind leaves no tunnel unexplored. Only in the shadows of Arcadia does the essence of humanity thrive. The darkness demands each and every person to go within and discover who exactly they are.
