Elsa Petit

Originally from France I started studying music (piano and drums) and contemporary dance in Lyon and gained a psychology degree in 2006. I then graduated from LCDS with a BA(hons) degree in 2009 where I developed strong skills in contemporary dance technique, physical theatre and contact improvisation.
Since graduation, I have been performing for several contemporary dance and physical theatre companies. I create my own work and choreographed a short film by director kezia Barnett that won the Straight 8 competition and was screened at Cannes Festival 2011.
I have more recently been working as an actress for film/commercials and with Underconstruction Theatre ( street theatre ) and Secret cinema ( immersive theatre) .

Finally , I also specialise in vintage dances ( 20s, 30s, Charleston..), choreography and voice overs and I have worked as body double for several productions.

I speak English, French and basic Spanish and I am always looking to get in contact with creatives who collaborate with international artists. I have been working with really different artists who challenged me on my technical abilities but also on my creativity so that's why I am very versatile. I like collaborating with artists from different background and more than anything I have a real passion for cross cultural and disciplinary performances.
