About Paul

Paul is a highly experienced, multi-skilled expeditionary production specialist.
He has particular exposure to operations in Papua New Guinea, The Solomon Islands, Australia and the Oceania/Melanesia region generally, with film experience revolving around documentary, obs-doc and reality/presenter led projects.

The scope of services available with this operator on your team includes;
-natural history - consulting and advice, animal handling and safety management, landscape and ecology interpretation, identification and fact checking.
-culture and language - cultural liaison, cultural advice and translation, context consulting for interaction and narrative development.
-fixing - general fixing, remote area fixing, location scouting and management, expedition leading and base camp management services.
-production - story development and advice, fact checking on cultural, social, landscape and wildlife elements, post production - translation and transcription, story-line accuracy consulting, location contact followup etc...
Paul is able to work both behind the camera as described above, as well as on screen in roles such as "local expert", "specialist presenter", "location guest co-host", "host's expedition leader/guide" and more.
Paul's versatility and wide experience makes him a very useful and flexible inclusion on complex remote film production projects throughout the South Western Pacific region.

Unique traits: Patience and Pidgin. Paul has an unusual, and often remarked upon ability to operate safely, smoothly and successfully in PNG and the Solomon Islands. His extensive network of capable local crew and influential tribal leaders throughout the country, developed over thirty years, is a key asset. This network enables Paul to offer producers the rare ability to hit the ground working, with complex projects, and see them through with fewer of the signature dramas than might typically challenge Melanesian film shoots.
