I have no advice. But perhaps a resource. If you go to Johnaugust.com and find the scriptnotes podcast transcripts. John had a few episodes talking pitching and getting ready to put ‘Big Fish’ on broadway.
He was adapting a film to a musical. But there may be some gold in that.

@Dan is right there are other chances with other producers, either by spending time improving your own screenplay skillset or getting help from another writer. I think you are being hard on yourself cos I don't even know of a best seller screenwriter who wrote a successful "First Draft."
