Dee Ott

A writer from the age of 7, I graduated in 2008 from the MFA Screenwriting program at USC. I've worked as a theater and film reviewer, and was a contributing writer to the "In the Movies" book series (edited by Timothy Knight) for Barnes and Noble. My scripts have received recognition in the Austin Film Festival and Sundance Screenwriting competitions, and my thesis script was optioned by a fellow alum. In 2012, my drama exploring pornography and porn addiction from both male and female perspectives placed in the top 10 percent of the Nicholl Fellowship screenwriting competition.

My stories explore dark, mature themes, often with an eye toward alternative sexualities and an outsider's view of everyday life. I'm currently working on a dark-comedy/thriller and a horror-thriller -- both of which should prove once and for all just how warped I really am.
