About Joseph

Hi, my name is Joseph M. Armillas . I’m an actor, musician, writer, producer and director.
I was born in South America and raised in the United States. I’m a naturalized American citizen. I 'm a US Army veteran. I served from1964-1967 with an honorable discharge. Starting in 1967 I worked as a professional musician for over 35 years, mostly while living in New York. I’ve been living in Los Angeles since 1990. Before starting a career in music I had done some acting in the late sixties/early seventies. I got back to acting in 2007 and I’m now a SAG-AFTRA member. I’m also a writer, mostly science fiction, a passion of mine since grammar school. I self-published two of the books from a trilogy I've written (Plantanimus), please visit my website, for more information.
Since returning to acting I’ve also made inroads into production, screen writing and directing. I have a spy thriller screenplay titled, ZEBRA9 that I’m currently trying to get made. Please visit and to view a pitch trailer and scene from the project.

Here's a photo of our Co-Op group made up of filmmakers, actors, writers and producers this past Monday March 9th, at Aramar Studio. From left to right: Steven Dones, me, Eliza Agudelo, Chris Sparks, Georgina Okon and Julian Flynn. We're working on producing actor's reel scenes for Eliza and Georgina written by Steven Dones, Chris Sparks and Eliza. Julian, Steven and I will be acting in those scenes. I'll be posting thoseclips sometime in April.

I'm happy to announce that Aramar Entertainment Films has acquired the new Sony FDR-AX1 4K Sony camera as well as DLC rigs, one for the Sony and another one for my DSLR's.

At my new editing bay studying DaVinci Resolve 11. I'm not trying to become a professional colorist, just upgrading my skill set!
