Kim Ikonen

I'm a Stockholm-based down to earth, no-nonsense dependable make up artist and voice over talent. I don’t mind if the project is big or small, if I’m solo or part of a motivated team, I just love doing my job, learning more about my craft and the joy of working with other creative, down-to-earth people.

After school, and a lot of traveling, I studied business studies at University while assisting on feature films and doing small make-up jobs in the fashion industry. In the summer of 1995 I lived in Paris doing make-up, and sitting at bohemian cafés feeling debonair, drinking tea in order to avoid being accosted by Frenchmen in the street. I returned to Sweden restless, and combined writing my thesis at university, with drama school and freelancing as a make-up artist.

Since 1999 I have freelanced in different areas of the entertainment industry.

As a make-up artist and hair stylist, I've worked on feature films, countless shorts, loads of pop/rock artists, actors and celebrities for promotional material, music videos, commercials, TV/stage productions, editorial shoots, fashion or corporate events, and weddings.

As an actress, I've performed in plays, short films, radio, company events, and was part of the regular cast of a daily soap opera, appeared in commercials and toured with interactive theater performances in Sweden and Norway. I also coached actors in dance.

For some time I was a columnist, writing humorous philosophical observations of everyday life, and for a short period I worked as a dancer and sports activity leader in the sunny Canary Islands.

Since 2004, I have a home studio and voice TV commercials, radio spots, corporate presentations, medical narration, IVRS, and promos for clients around the world on a regular basis. I do VO's in Swedish, Finland-Swedish, and occasionally American English.

Today, I focus on make-up and voice-overs. With excellent references as both make-up artist/hair stylist, and voice-over talent, I strive to deliver: “professional results and personal commitment" in all projects. Let me know if I can be of service to you!
