About Aurélien

My name is Aurélien and I am a French born, New Zealand trained writer and producer currently living in Seoul, South Korea. Most of my work these days revolves around writing animation TV shows for Korean companies targeting international markets, as well as other screenplays for independent directors and companies in Asia. I was invited to the Kyoto Filmmakers Lab in 2015, HANIFF in Vietnam to pitch my feature script in 2016 and the Fantastic School Program at BIFAN in 2018 in South Korea.

Haebangchon: Chapter 1 (2015)
Film (Crime and Drama) Producer Haebangchon is a crime drama with an ensemble cast set a midst a mafia takeover of the small foreigner town. It features multiple characters on both sides of the conflict who are faced with their own personal needs for freedom that culminates into the larger story (similar to the movies 'Crash' and 'Go'). One of the subplots include the Mafia's extortion of a foreigner named Q (Kahlid Tapia) who is forced to sell a large amount of marijuana in order to leave with his life, the problem is, he's not a very good drug dealer and he loses the weed. Another one hinges on the mafia's slavery of one of its henchmen Ji (Jennifer Yun). Ji pledged her life to the mafia in exchange for her fathers, she wants nothing more than to pay off her debt and return to being a full time mother. Amiss (2014)

With the help of his trusted henchman (Jung-Gi Min), he has them captured and tied up in an abandoned warehouse with the intention of interrogating them to find out the truth behind his daughter's suicide and killing the one he feels is to blame. In the middle of nowhere, far away from help of any kind, they have no choice but to co-operate with the father's will, while trying to find a way out.
