I am a screenwriter and host of "Tales of the Trails," a web series based on my blog of the same name. The blog was inspired by my outdoor adventures and my love for "The Lord of the Rings." I discovered through adventuring outdoors that the trails I set foot on correspond with something that is either currently going on in my life or something that happened in the past. The journey to the various destinations I travel to on foot help me put my life in better perspective, so I started the blog and now the web series. The aim is to encourage others to get out and explore while at the same time inspiring and encouraging them to overcome life's challenges.
The line from "The Lord of the Rings," "I wonder what sort of a tale we've fallen into?" is what inspired the concept of the series. However, in the hiking and climbing world, you don't want to use words like "fallen" or "stumbled," so I changed it up, and on each episode of "Tales of the Trails" I pose the question, "What sort of tale have we found ourselves in?" There is usually a lesson learned by the end of the episode that can be applied to life and that is how each episode is concluded. I would like to make this into a TV show at some point as I think that there is a need for it and it's unlike any show of its kind I've ever seen.
