Film (short) by Holli Herrle-Castillo (Drama) Producer, Director, Writer Loan shark Poppy is interrupted making collections by a call that his 15-year-old daughter, Sophia, has been caught in a bar room again. He picks her up and continues his collections, leaving her in the car while he does his last one at a local New Orleans bar. Properly chastised by Poppy and under an impending threat that her Sweet 16 party is going to be canceled, Sophia starts to call the police when she sees 3 armed thugs enter the bar. She then puts the phone down and declines to make the call. Poppy's final collection doesn't go as planned as the armed gunmen enter the bar and start shooting. A bloodbath ensues, ending with two men left, Poppy and one of the thugs. Out of ammo, Poppy believes he is about to be killed and concedes, closing his eyes as the final shot is fired--by Sophia, who kills the gunman and saves Poppy. The torch has been passed.
