I'm a WGA screenwriter and an award- winning playwright.
As a screenwriter I've done work for New Line Cinema and Harry Belafonte as well as Tri-Vanguard Pictures.
My plays have been seen Off-Broadway and in professional/regional theatres across the country. I have also been published in Best Short Plays and Dramatists Play Service.
My play Today A Little Extra was first seen at Actors Theater of Louisville’s Humana Festival for New American Plays. It was later performed Off-Broadway at The American Jewish Theatre before being performed by professional and amateur theater groups all over the country. It has been published in Best Short Plays and Baker’s Plays.
My play Brother Champ was selected for the National Playwrights Conference and was produced at the Mixed Blood Theater in Minneapolis as well as The West Coast Ensemble in Los Angeles, where it won a Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Award (Best Playwright).
My play, The Shroud (Peace) was also produced at West Coast Ensemble where it won a best new play award. It has also received numerous readings in New York and through a grant from The Guthrie Theatre.
I received a JP Morgan Chase grant to do a staged reading of my play, Rags and Iron, which was done last fall in New York.
Locally I ran a film class I founded (for seven years) and helped the United Palace Theater, a Loews "Wonder Palace" from the 1930s, raise over $50,000 to purchase two digital projectors by placing stories in The New York Times and on New York 1 News.
I live in Washington Heights with my wife, Beverly, and twin 12-year olds, Jack and Lena.
