About Sharlene

Sharlene Millang is an emerging producer and experienced actress from Edmonton. Her passion and energy is evident from the first moment you meet her! Sharlene has a BA (English) and will be adding BMgt to her name in 2015. Originally a stage actor, she was introduced to film in 2010 (working with Ben Babchishen of Hired Gun Productions) and has not looked back since! Although she continues to appear on stage once a year, most of her recent work is as a producer and actor for film projects in Edmonton. One of her strengths is the ability to work with people and keep things moving along, while maintaining a spirit of fun. Sharlene’s current projects include assisting Tim McKort (Western Directives) to find Edmonton cast/crew for his upcoming feature Q4 (to be shot in Edmonton and Buffalo, NY); producing the short film A Raven’s Song (a drama about a young Metis boy living in the inner city who faces a moral dilemma in order to save his grandmother’s life) to be shot in May 2014; and having the lead role in a stage play: Sorry, Wrong Number, directed by Rachel Whipple. She recently completed working as Assistant Director on A Good Man music video (Sinder Sparks) and acting on Angela Palmer’s web series Dookie Squad (accepted by the LA Web Series Festival for screening this year). Sharlene is the Business Manager/Producer for Groove Soldier Productions (GSP), a small independent film company in Edmonton. GSP is a collaborative multi-creative production company, although most of our current work is in short film and video production. Note that neither Sharlene nor her business partner, Dan Foreman, are “full time” employees of GSP, but with the demands for our skills, we predict that within two years, this will be a full-time venture for us. We are VERY ready to make the leap from short film production to a feature film!
