Jim Stallings
Is an Atlanta based author, musician, composer, arranger and producer.
His books include, "The Unwanted Blessing"; Resource Publications, a book of poetry on Grieving and finding God in the midst of it all,
And Concepts in Audio Engineering; Gembeck Music Press, a recording technology how-to for musicians.
His musical compositions cover a wide range of styles and genre’s, from his work for two seasons with the Grammy Award wining Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and his commissions from such organizations as The American Composers Forum, Furman University, The Coweta County School System's Centre for the Visual and Performing Arts, to his own award winning electronic works, and his work with Atlanta based ensembles.
His Production credits include, the acoustic jazz folk duo The Listening Wall with whom he has co-written and produced 2 EPs "The Listening Wall Live" and "The Listening Wall Christmas" and numerous single releases; the Atlanta based band Elevation 120, producing 2 albums "Common Holy Places" and "Christmas Solstice"; and The Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia producing "South Wind", an album of early American folk music.
He was the composition professor at Georgia Perimeter college for many years and taught courses in music technology at Georgia State University. He holds music degrees from Catawba College, Georgia State University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
