About Nathan

Cinematographer, photographer, painter and illustrator. I've spent my life making pictures that tell stories - light is my first language. I've never met a camera I didn't like or couldn't use.

I have made 3 documentaries, 6 short films (several still in post ...) and many, many short, documentary style marketing pieces for academic institutions and non profits.

I have an MFA in photography and in my 20's I worked as an exhibition printer for many artists in NYC. I was the assistant printer on the first exhibition prints of Robert Mapplethorpe's notorious X Portfolio, printed for Anita Chernewski, Jill Freedman and many others.

As a painter, I have had 13 one man show and was included in dozens of juried shows. I am a published illustrator with numerous illustrations in academic research magazines and other publications.

Unique traits: Although I am fanatical about pre-production and planning, I am also very good in fluid situations - capturing unguarded moments and transient effects of light. I am at my best with great collaborators!
