Expand postHi folk! i would like to hear from your experience. I'd like to refresh my "paper" portfolio which is a big folder containing photos (in sheet protectors) of some of my works as a prop maker and scenic painter. Soon i'll be back on the job market! so i'd like to add some material i can show when (hopefully) i'll get a job interview. I have a digital portfolio as well: www.lucarossiscenic.com. This helps to give a general idea of my work when sending a digital application. So, I wonder, how do you prefer to organise your works? Do you only show photos of the final product or of the making process also? (i go for the second option). Do you organise the visual references by show? (i do that) by skills (say: prop skills, painting, sketches, sculpture, etc.)? or by period? (year, working place and so on), is there a limit to the amount of stuff you put in it? It'd be interesting to hear other people's experience we can all share. Thanks!

Expand commentMe again Luca. I enjoyed looking at your online portfolio very much. I do suggest adding a slide show, only of the best of the finished work of each show - because it started taking a long time to keep clicking. I'm not sure you are leading with your best, most striking and engaging, images at the top of the page. I encourage you to divide it into theatre and film work portfolios. Also, speaking as a lighting designer, in the captions of your photos I see that you are crediting the designers (I assume set designers). Since you are also showing their work, you really should also mention the lighting designer for those "in performance" shots. Or at least include that information once in the heading. Again best wishes.
