Storyteller OL’ MAN JENKINS narrates this adventure tale about a troubled boy coping with the grief and loss of his mother who re-discovers what family means when he rescues a greyhound pup from the jaws of a crocodile in the Everglades. Unbeknownst to him, the pup is of champion lineage and will one day attract the attention and accolades of the racing world. Based on true events—the racer is stolen, dyed black to disguise its origin, and entered into races where it becomes a favorite on the leader board. With his latest family member now missing, the boy undertakes a dangerous journey to recover the dog he loves from racetrack mobsters.
