About Tony

Tony Vella is an experienced stuntman, stunt coordinator, actor and San
Francisco native. Legitimately trained in both stunts and acting with more than 25
years experience both on-camera and behind the scenes, Tony is an actors’
stunt coordinator, as he understands the difficulties in choreographing dialogue
and physical actions required by actors when performing their own stunts. He
works efficiently to explain and demonstrate how to execute the actions for
dramatic results. He can also perform the stunts himself, or can bring in stunt
performers or stunt doubles when necessary and is just as adept with directing
and coordinating them to give their best.
In the beginning of his career, Tony became a member of the stunt group he was
training with but later heard a calling to control his destiny and created his own
organization, B.A.S. - Bay Area Stunts, which offers full service action
coordinating: including stunts, precision driving, and specialty rigging
( aka, wire work ) for now over 10 years.
His personal work in both stunt coordinating and on-camera stunts includes a
multitude of commercials, industrials, television, feature movies, and “live” stunt
shows. His stunt coordinator credits include, La Mission (2009), starring
Benjamin Bratt, the quirky cult hit, All About Evil (2010) with Natasha Lyonne,
About Cherry (2012) starring James Franco, Garden of Eden with Eric Roberts
(2014) Quitters with Mia Sorvino (2014) and The Boat Builder with Christopher
Lloyd (2015)
His Stunt Credits include doubling various actors on "The Bridge" (Fx), Gang
Related (Fox), Bad Judge (NBC), The upcoming show Angie Tribeca
( TBS ) with Rashida Jones , Antman as driving double for Michael Pena’ and
San Andreas as specialty rigger working directly with Dwayne “The Rock”
Johnson during the parachuting into AT&T Park scene, and several seasons as
both a principal stunt double and occasional bad guy on San Francisco’s own,
“Nash Bridges”
Additional stunt coordinator and upcoming credits include "Kicks" ( 2016 ),
Diary of a Teenage Girl, Cardinal X, and the currently in production “Pushing
Dead” with James Roday ( Psych ) and Robin Weigert ( Deadwood ) with more
