Jay Washington

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa and after serving three years in the United States Army, relocated to Florida in 1987. I currently work for an insurance company but have always had a love for the arts, acting in particular. I began acting in 1999 and have acted in numerous stage plays, films, and have done commercials. I have attended acting workshops where I trained under Tasha Smith who was featured in Tyler Perry’s hit films “Why Did I get Married” and “Why Did I get Married II”. I have also trained under famed actor Bill Duke at the 2013 “American Black Film Festival workshop. Although I enjoy stage, my first love is film and television.

My goal is to attend formal acting classes and to continue get more experience with acting and will always continue to train. My future goal is to one day form my own production company where I create and develop projects for film, television, video, and stage.
