A courageous American Indian teenage girl discovers the essence of the earth's elements (earth, water, air, and fire) embodied in four, egg-shaped phenomenon, also known as the Sensations. When the "fire" essence is stolen by the evil and power-hungry ruler of the underworld, she must journey through a cavernous and dangerous terrain to retrieve it from him and to save mankind and the planet from complete destruction.

SYNOPSIS:

A brave and determined American Indian teenage girl discovers the essence of the earth's elements (earth, air, water, and fire) embodied in four, egg-shaped phenomenon (the Sensations). She holds each sensation in her hands and experiences the distinct powers that they each embody: Blue/Water creates instant healing, Green/Earth causes the earth to rumble and a seed to grow rapidly and to enormous heights, and Yellow/Air has the power of the wind to lift and transport anyone or anything. The Red/Fire essence is too hot for her to even touch and must be accompanied by the other elements surrounding it at all times.

Tempted by their brilliance and magic, she removes them from their protected place in the mountains to share with her grandmother, a blind indian shaman woman. Her grandmother explains their purpose and the myth behind them: The ruler of the Upperworld comes down to earth when the planet is in trouble and embodies the elements of the earth in these sensations in order to balance them and save the planet and mankind from extinction. They are sacred and essential to our survival. Her grandmother, Spider implores her to return them immediately.

Before she can bring them back safely to their sacred place, the Red/Fire phenomenon is stolen by the evil ruler of the Underworld. With the Red/Fire in his possession, the planet and mankind are in danger of extinction, but he needs the other elements to secure his rule over the earth.

So begins her courageous journey to his layered land of chaos and dangerous surprises. She travels there with her new love interest, Adam the "all American" high school quarterback and popular guy. On the surface, they seem like opposites, but in their essence they are similar and connected by their idealism and heart. Together, they overcome the obstacles on the journey, confront the evil ruler, and devise a precarious plan to retrieve the Red/Fire phenomenon, ultimately saving humanity and the planet from extinction.
