About Sid

Hi, I’m Sid. I’m an artist, designer and a writer living in San Francisco, CA. Born in Gujarat, Mumbai and raised in New Jersey. I completed my BFA in Painting and Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2006. In 2009, during the major economic recession, I decided to pursue further education and went to Mumbai, India to attend Whistling Woods International. There, I focused on film direction and screenwriting, and eventually earned an Associate in Film Arts in 2011. With my degrees in design and filmmaking, I bring the art of storytelling to the forefront of all my projects.

As a creator I have a deep admiration for Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Alexander Calder and I'm influenced by the works of Truffaut, Goddard, Scorsese, M. Night Shyamalan, and Alfonso Cuarón. Some of my favorite films include “The 400 Blows, Breathless, Mean Streets, Memento, The Sixth Sense, and Y Tu Mamá También.

Currently, I am shopping my first feature-length screenplay for production or management representation. It’s a psychological/sci-fi thriller called “White Calm”. Think Donnie Darko meets Shutter Island and Vertigo. And I’m also working on finishing my second screenplay which is a coming of age story called “July Flame”. Think Tarantino meets Y tu mama tambien. Writing stories is my passion, which is often sparked by a simple visual or an idea.
