Marcus Moonen

For as long as I can remember I have loved film and photography. Maybe because my father was an avid amateur filmmaker, documenting much of my youth and our holidays with his 8mm camera. I have experimented with photography and film and used it in many art projects.

About a decade ago I started showing more of my work to the world and not long after I discovered that people responded positively to my imagery. So I decided to further develop my skills and knowledge. Because of this I now have experience writing scripts, directing, filming, grading and editing. For the last ten years I have also produced electronic music in my studio and have much experience in sound mixing.

It has been a wild and exciting ride so far. In 2010 I wrote, co­directed and filmed a 48 hour Film Project film that won our city and placed in the top ten at the finals in Miami. In the last two years my photos have been exhibited in New York and The Netherlands. I wanted more!

There was the music video I directed and shot in Norway for The Gathering which has so far had over 300.000 views on Youtube and last year my music video for Rodèlle's track I'm Afraid I'm Not was made an official selection in three film festivals, two in the USA and one in Berlin, Germany. In between music videos, I have directed and shot videos for a large national bank and a large tech company.

I love looking through the lens. I love to convey feelings through film. I love to travel. Filming and taking photos in Miami, New York, Norway, Hong Kong, Denmark, The Netherlands, and Spain rank as some of the most exciting things I have done. Many of these projects were done by myself or with a skeleton crew. I write and speak Dutch, English, German and a bit of French and Spanish.

When it comes to communicating with specific target audiences I have the advantage of having worked for the past four years as a marketing communications specialist. I have had the opportunity to specialize in Content Marketing, Social Media and Online Dialogue. In this capacity I have also developed strong project management skills.
