About Nadia
Nadia DiMofte is an Emerging Filmmaker that moved to Vancouver 4 years ago from Europe. She has just finished FRaiLNeSS - her first short as a Writer/Director/Producer that stars her husband and business partner Raresh DiMofte and was jaccepted at the Short Film Corner section of the Cannes Film Festival. The film received immediately a distribution deal. Nadia was always into writing, discovering the truth and telling beautiful stories, those being the main reasons for her BA in Journalism/Communication. She always had a passion for film as a great medium of expression but only since her work for the Cannes Film Festival in 2008 she actively started pursuing this dream. Her move to Vancouver was part of her strategy to built a new career as a filmmaker, as well as establishing her own small production company BAD ICON Production$. Her background is in Event Organizing (20+ years) and Marketing (15+ years). She has international experience in both corporate and small business as well as NGO’s, where she promoted, brands, products and services while organizing hundreds of events (including fundraisers) of all sizes and purposes. She is also a strong believer in volunteering your time and skills for the benefit of others therefore she is a Zonta International member and she collaborated with SOS Children Villages BC and SOS Kinderdorf International. Most recently she took over Raindance Vancouver. As a Regional Director she is involved in helping the BC filmmakers to network with other filmmakers or/and investors to finish their creations. She is also a member of WIFTV Vancouver.
