About Youssef

He was studying International Business at Schiller International University in Madrid. After which, he spent sometime in a cubical; he felt trapped. So he decided to move on to bigger goals and aspirations. Being involved in the craft of film-making has always been a dream of his so he moved to San Francisco to attend the Academy of Arts University. He wanted to learn the basics and fundamentals of the art. During his three-year stay, he directed countless shorts and commercials. His best work thus far is The Safest Place. It was a big production for a short and he spent a lot of time and effort on it. They rented a 15-passenger van to drive the crew from San Francisco to Tijuana. They had only 3 days to shoot because of the tight schedule. Youssef Ouarrak had everything organized. His willingness and dedication made the whole process to go smoothly and according to plan. His crew from San Francisco collaborated perfectly with those in Mexico. Everyone was thrilled with the work they had accomplished. Youssef Ouarrak always believe in teamwork and if one falters, the whole film follows.

He got into writing two years ago when he met his Screenwriting teacher James Dallesandro, he wrote the novel 1906. He started working on this idea that he had. Step by step, it went from being just a log-line to a treatment to an outline and to finally a screenplay. Took him about two years to finish it. This film (Faith) will push dramas to another level. He has another screenplay under development; a Sci-Fi/Thriller set sometime in the future about a man and his daughter living in a house surrounded by a resilient wire fence.
