From a young age, I remember always being mesmerized by the costumes and outfits seen in films, more specifically the theatrical ones. The power of a character's garment help significantly to make that character who they are and how the viewers remember them. I knew feeling at a young age, and even more so today, the importance of this.
Creating a character through my garments is what I aim to do. My work, although fashion based, generally has costume influences and tendencies. I am interested in creating one of a kind pieces that are unique within themselves and memorable. In creating my own fashion line I use the same formula except instead of characters on screen, I translate it to real people in the real world.
My work generally speaks to a dark but feminine nature and I am always trying to create a beautiful silhouette with interesting forms and textures. Some of my main inspirations have come from fantasy in cinema, literature, historical costume, surrealist artwork, the world around us and how it is changing.
