I'm an award winning screenwriter, director and actress. I've also worked in casting for years and have cast a number of films, TV, and theater. I love teaching and helping other create projects for themselves. I'm teaching two 5 week Screenwriting Classes for actors, filmmaker, and screenwriters that both start next week. Hey- I've gotten several headshots through the years, but I'm currently looking for a new photographer. I know many awesome one in the 900-1100 range, but really don't want to spend that much. Can NYC actors recommend good photographers in the more 300-500 range? I'm particularly interested in someone who shoots both outside and in the studio. Thanks!

If you're an actor looking to create your own projects in NYC I have some classes that are perfect for you. I've taught a variety of writing and acting classes. Lately I've been specializing in classes for actors who want to create their own work. I feel like because of my varied background as a writer, filmmaker, actress, and casting director, I have a unique understanding of what kinds of characters and stories will work well for each actor. Film has tried to even the odds in action and thrillers with female characters, but it seems that we have a double standard at work. Can we writers put a female character through the wringer physically, like John McClane in Die Hard, without hearing cries of misogyny? At what point do we as writers cross the line and what can be done to avoid such pitfalls if one wishes to write a female driven action film?

Hi Guys, Jessica Here. I'm a writer, director, actress, casting director, and teacher/coach. I often create comedic projects (or interesting mixes of genres), and especially love quirky characters and complex relationships. Since I was a young girl I've had an interest in writing, directing, and acting. I went to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where I studied acting and directing for theater. I also went to the Columbia Grad Film program, where I wrote, directed, and produced a strong body of film and TV projects. Many of my past projects have been honored in festivals and script contests. Since graduating from Columbia I've divided my time between writing, directing, and casting for film, TV, web series, commercials, and music videos (as both a writer and director for hire and on my own projects as well). I've also developed a strong passion for teaching and consulting actors and screenwriters. Recently one of the web series I was a staff writer for was optioned by a TV network. I'm currently in post production for a comedy web series I created and star in, as well as developing a new pilot and feature script.
